Non Playable Character (N.P.Cs)--

These are characters that are controlled by the character that introduces them into the topic. They help give a better definition of the setting in the area and can be used in both combative and non combative situations.

The purpose for N.P.Cs are basically to help make the topic that more enjoyable to those who partake in it. It adds realism into the RP setting and helps keep things slightly more interesting. (Though N.P.Cs unless the ones used for events usually aren't even strong enough to take on a new character on a one on one battle.)

If an N.P.C doesn't serve a purpose then don't bother mentioning them at all, unless of course there are crowds of people, or you bump into someone to try to show the way your character behaves so that anyone reading and thinking about joining the topic can understand how the interaction would most likely be like and helps people decide to choose which topics would be more interesting for their character.

The best and overall use for an N.P.C is to help move the story along, for if they don't help the story move along in some type of way then refer to message above (where it says you don't mention them in the topic). You can use an N.P.C any time you wish to use one however, though it is better to have a reason for them instead of just using them to add useless lines to your post.
